Established in 2010, the University International College (UIC) is an academic unit providing certificate and non-certificate education, student exchange programs, study abroad programs, and language proficiency tests. UIC strives to nurture academic talents with practical skills.
UIC has programs including three tracks of Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Studies (Spanish, Portuguese, and English), and students can select one area of Business Administration, International Tourism Management and Communication as the minor, thus diversifying their choices for further education and career development. Postgraduate programs including Master of Arts in Foreign Language Studies (Spanish, Portuguese, and English), Masters in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL), PhD in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (DCFL), and PhD in Creative Writing; UIC also provides College English and College Chinese for the General Education programs, DELE Online Preparation Course (non-credit bearing) and training course for teachers ......
For the teaching quality, UIC exhibits characteristics of diversity, expertise, and scholarly excellence. Foreign language courses are taught by a number of native speakers of the respective languages, and there are approximately 40 full-time faculty members with doctoral degrees, as well as 10 doctoral student supervisors within the college. A number of teachers from UIC have received university awards for outstanding teaching, and their research has contributed to hundreds of articles published in internationally and nationally influential journals.
UIC has The Center for International Education (with a Branch in Hengqin Area, Zhuhai),which is a training base in Macau that provides curriculum design, quality assurance, foreign language teaching, and Chinese as a foreign language. With the benefit of the multilingual environment of Macao and the flourishing development of multilingual teaching in the university, the establishment of MCRLA is supported by UIC to promote academic research in economy, society, culture, language and education, as well as to enact as a platform for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.In addition, UIC maintains the Language Studio, where students can engage in learning exchange with teachers of various languages. Meanwhile, UIC is also the test center of IELTS and DELE. To ensure students applying what they have learned, UIC arranges them in short-term exchange/study abroad programs in the partner foreign institutions.
UIC offers winter and summer exchange programs as well as one semester-exchange opportunities to all MUST students. These programs allow students to engage in exchange studies with renowned universities in Europe, the United States, and Australia. See International Exchange for details.
